Mili Cordero

Mili CorderoDr. Milagros Cordero is the founder of ITTS For Children. She is a licensed, registered occupational therapist with over 40 years of experience treating children and adults with developmental disabilities. She received her basic training in occupational therapy from the University of Puerto Rico. Her Masters degree in Pediatric Occupational Therapy and a Doctoral degree in Special Education are from Boston University. Dr. Cordero is a certified senior clinician and faculty member through the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning (ICDL). ICDL promotes the work of Dr. Stanley Greenspan and the DIRFloortime® approach. Additionally, Dr. Cordero is a member of Comunidades Inclusivas, an initiative for Spanish speaking professionals spearheaded by Dr. Cecilia Breinbauer, which focuses on respect, integrated education and emotional attunement in the area of inclusiveness. Dr. Cordero is also certified in the use of Therapeutic Listening, SAMONAS and Tomatis sound therapies.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Cordero trains aspiring clinicians, serves on numerous committees and boards,  and travels both nationally and internationally to teach, guide and speak on issues related to pediatric development. Additionally, she serves as a field work supervisor for students in training at numerous colleges, including: Boston University, Washington University, and Louisiana State University. Dr. Cordero feels that teaching clinicians in training reaffirms the core principles of her own work. As she explains the concepts, models and interactions to students in the field, she develops a deeper understanding of the topics, which in turn deepens her own knowledge-base.     MaryBeth recommended you for my son Jude. We see MaryBeth weekly but she thinks OT with you would be good for Jude. Jude is about to turn 8 and has a diagnosis of Autism. I would love to chat with you to see if we could get into your schedule and for you to meet Jude.
